Part I - the internal environments.
This project was born from the intention to bring back to life one of the most monumental thermal complexes of ancient Rome, aiming to restore its original scale, monumentality, and atmosphere. The reconstruction is based on archaeological references, plans, and historical studies, interpreted and translated into a coherent and believable 3D environment.
Particular attention was given to:
• modular architectural modeling to ensure structural consistency and accuracy
• creation of procedural materials for marble, stone, and decorative surfaces
• lighting design aimed at enhancing volumes and conveying the grandeur of the spaces
• final rendering with a cinematic approach, intended to evoke the presence and life of the place
A big challenge was the reconstruction of the floors, almost different for each room.
Software: Blender
Rendering: Cycles
This project represents both a historical reconstruction exercise and an artistic exploration of the relationship between architecture, light, and memory.
The next step is the reconstruction of the exterior with the fence and other rooms, the gardens, the entrances, etc.
